1/31/2017 0 Comments Loving vincent van goghThe work of art that inspires me is done by multiple artists. Directors Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman created a film called "Loving Vincent" about the life of Vincent Van Gogh portrayed through over 62,000 hand painted frames done by 115 professional oil painters. The film will include 94 paintings created by Van Gogh himself. This motion picture has taken almost six years to create. Director Hugh Welchman was born in 1975 in the United Kingdom and has won an Academy Award for Best Short Animated Film- Peter and the Wolf.
This was interesting to me because Vincent Van Gogh is well known for his art but most people do not know much of his backstory. The trailer drew me in, causing me to want to learn more about his personal life. Also, Vincent Van Gogh died at age 37 due to suicide; I would like to find out more about why he died at such an early age. The paintings are colorful, intricate, and animated- giving it a life-like appeal to the reader. The art flows so well that it does not look like it was painted by hand.
